We’re honored to share that Ruesch Century Farm was recently featured in Agri-View, Wisconsin’s agricultural news source, in a story highlighting our family’s 140-plus-year history and commitment to organic farming.

The article tells the story of how our family farm began in 1879 and evolved through four generations — from dairy and hay to the organic cranberry production that defines us today.

Back in the 1980s, Grandpa Tom had what many thought was a “crazy idea” — to grow cranberries in what most would call an upland marsh. He made it work, and soon after, we became the first certified organic cranberry growers in Wisconsin. Our partnership with Co-op Partners Warehouse helped bring our berries to co-op shelves across the region, where you can still find them today.

Today our cranberry marsh spans about 4 acres of our 80-acre farm near Vesper, Wisconsin, and we continue to harvest organically — using dry-harvest methods that preserve the berries’ quality for months. Every generation has adapted to new challenges while keeping our focus on family, stewardship, and love of the land.

We’re deeply grateful to Agri-View for sharing our story and for celebrating the work of century farms across Wisconsin.

Thank you for supporting local family farms — and for choosing Wisconsin-grown organic cranberries!
